Work continues even at night to close the crack in the Vaini embankment

Works to restore the Vaini embankment continue overnight this Monday after a new crack appeared in the Tale area of ​​Lezha.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Andis Salla, announces that the team of the Lezha Irrigation-Drainage Directorate, in cooperation with civil emergencies, the Armed Forces and the local government, continues intensive work on the rehabilitation of the damaged embankment, with the aim of minimizing damage to agricultural lands and protecting the area.

As a result of the crack, a significant amount of water is seeping into the Spiten-Hidrovor canal.

Because of this, some agricultural lands in the areas of Tresh and Spiteni have been flooded, while residents of residential areas are not at risk.

The resumption of intensive works aims to prevent further damage and protect surrounding areas from flooding.
