The Constitutional Court today examines Ilir Meta's request for freedom

The Constitutional Court will consider today at 11:00 the appeal of former President of Albania Ilir Meta, who requests the overturning of the security measure 'prison arrest'.

Meta requests from the Constitutional Court the annulment of the decisions of the First Instance of the GJKKO, the Special Appeal and that of the Supreme Court, thus requesting his release from detention.

Ilir Meta has been in isolation since October 2024, following accusations of corruption, abuse of office, and concealment of assets brought against him by SPAK.
