Constitutional Court rejects small parties' appeal against closed lists

The Constitutional Court has rejected the appeal of small parties regarding the Electoral Code.

Small parties demanded the repeal of the amendments to the Electoral Code, calling them unconstitutional.

The lawsuit was filed to overturn the pact between the Democratic Party and the Socialist Party for the one-third closed list and other changes, but the appeal has now been dismissed.

According to the complaint of small parties, the new formula means that in the next parliament, about 100 out of 140 deputies will be appointed by the two main parties.
