The court of Shkodra has decided on the extradition of Igor Kokunov to Russia.

The 59-year-old Russian man is accused of the criminal offense of assuming duties in the high hierarchy of criminal structures in Russia. He is accused of crimes such as kidnapping, extortion, robbery, fraud and organization of illegal business.

Kokunov was arrested in the month of August at Muriqani customs.

For the 59-year-old declared internationally wanted, there is already a decision for extradition to Russia, which he has continuously opposed, claiming that his life is in danger.

The Russian's lawyer has stated that they will appeal the decision of the Shkodra Court.
