Today the Special Court rejected the request of Sali Berisha and his son-in-law Jamarbër Malltezi for the revocation of the security measure "house arrest".
Thus, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and Malltezi will continue to remain under house arrest.
Their lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, has opposed the decision, attacking GJKKO, which he has called a "political commissariat".
"The prosecutors should have explained, they should have answered our questions. Where is Mr. Berisha's corruption? The prosecutor said "I don't give an explanation to your questions". There is no longer a court here, it is a political commissariat. It is this court that has given the verdict for both of them, and don't have any curiosity, "Mr. Prosecutor, explain this to me", absolutely nothing", said Gjokutaj.
When asked when the investigations for his clients can be completed, Gjokutaj answered with irony saying "ask Edi Rama".
"Even the prosecutors don't know when the investigations will be finished, Edi Rama's word is expected. They don't know either. Prosecutors do not direct their acts, let alone the act of expertise. This time we were surprised at what they consist of, they asked unrelated persons and brought them to the court as important people. This is no longer a court," he said.
