With the works initiated during the summer, the GJKKO has been restructured with new halls, adapted to the American style, based on the Colorado Court and the New York style.

Since September 15, cases at the Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime have been tried in modernized courts, and the furnishing is now in the final stages.

The Procurement Agency has opened a tender for the high monetary limit for the furnishing of 4 courtrooms of the GJKKO with a limit fund of up to almost 300 thousand euros (specifically 299,688 euros), a procedure that closes on February 16. The tender sets out the technical specifications, requiring the bidder to implement the works agreement within two months.

Based on an architectural project by architect Rajmonda Mydinllari, it is intended that the wall covering should not be plastered but with solid oak wood material mainly up to the ceiling and the painting of the wooden panels should have a 30% gloss. The assembly is also described in detail how it should be, where perfection is required in the fitting of the panels to each other. The parquet should be laid with carpet on top of the laminate parquet, where several color patterns appear. The colors of the carpet should be neutral or dark and have a design that helps to mask stains. The concept of modernizing the halls considers it important that the carpet be of the highest class, elegant and uniform and that it should maintain its shape after continuous loads, with durability for use in highly accessible public environments.

The criteria clearly specify that oak wood, specifically natural European oak, be used for the structures of the tables of judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and clerks, as well as for the chairs or podiums of the speakers. The work will be carved as proposed in the project tenders, provided by Top Channel.

The consultation rooms will also undergo changes according to these images. The courtrooms with the refurb specify that the wooden material must not show signs of biodegradation or cracking and must be resistant to moisture./ TCH
