The former mayor of Libohova, Luiza Mandi, was sentenced by GJKKO to 1 year in prison after SPAK filed against her the charge of abuse of office.

It all started from a report that was filed by a citizen, who denounced the fact that a project was being developed by the Municipality for the widening of the road in the properties of his family members and that they had not been compensated.

After this report, SPAK seized the project and found that the property of the family members who also filed the report had been violated. SPAK and GJKKO found the former mayor guilty.

Two days after the decision of GJKKO, former mayor Luiza Mandi reacted by clarifying the truth of the project and its violations found by the Court to the detriment of the owners of the land where the road passed.

She says that there is a tendency towards her to tarnish and attack her politically. She warns that she will appeal the decision of GJKKO.

My dear friends and fellow citizens!

I am known by the media for the decision taken by the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, where I am accused of abuse of office. It is about a lawsuit brought against me by a land owner in the city of Libohova.

Through this post, I do not want to oppose or comment on the decision of this court, but as your voter for two terms, I have the obligation to share with you, as before God, the truth of this attack by people who want to tarnish my name. Before you I will give an account, just as if I were in office.

During the implementation of the project for the restoration of Libohovë city center, in 2016, the need arose for the expansion of the secondary road, the bypass of the city. The expansion would also "infringe" on the property co-owned by 10 owners, where only 15.8 square meters belonged to the plaintiffs.

Being such a small area, none of the co-owners, including the plaintiff, asked for any compensation for this, but only some systematization works in the garden of their house, which they fulfilled.

The works for the systemization of the road lasted several months, but in no case, the co-owners or the plaintiff, have not had any complaints about property occupation, in Libohova Municipality or any other local institution. The total value of the property, according to the assessment, is 3 million and 600 thousand ALL (old) and the value that the plaintiff "belongs" to is 360 thousand ALL (old).

Dear fellow citizens, the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, for this "damage" that I have caused to this citizen, has classified it as "abuse of duty" and wants to sentence me to 8 months of imprisonment!

I feel proud of the good works I have done while exercising my duty as mayor, but this pride and my name that someone is interested in hitting and tarnishing, I will protect it with all legal means, at every level of the judiciary !
