A sailboat, which was stranded on the coast of the village of Karpen, was found by the border police, while the whereabouts of the driver of the vessel, who is suspected to be a German citizen, remains a mystery.

In an official announcement, the Police said that during the search of the yacht, 1 "Walther" pistol firearm, 1 pistol comb, military ammunition, 2 mobile phones, 1 laptop and the documents of the boat were found and seized.

"The investigative group set up for this case is cooperating with Interpol Tirana, for the verification of the passport data that was found in the vessel, with the aim of clarifying the circumstances of this case and determining the location of the passport holder, who is suspected to be the driver of the vessel.

"From the first investigative actions, it is suspected that the driver of the boat may have fallen into the sea, due to high waves caused by bad weather," the police announced.
