"Gener 2 in violation of the law", residents of Bërxulla protest

Dozens of residents of Bërxulla have gathered this morning in front of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy to protest against the Thumanë-Kashar road construction project.

They demand to be compensated at the market price for their lands affected by the construction of the road. 

They have asked for a meeting with the Prime Minister earlier, but so far they have not received an answer from him.

They have been protesting for days and have even warned of blocking the road if their demands continue to fall on deaf ears. 

Although they are not against the project, the residents say that the company Gener2, which has won the project with a concession for 35 years, has, contrary to the law, started work on the ground without having a construction permit. Residents claim that they have not received any notification regarding the project, nor about the expropriations.
