The journalist who "defeated" SPAK: I have been expelled from the
Fiori Dardha and Elton Qyno

The Constitutional Court accepted the request of journalist Elton Qyno yesterday, declaring the seizure of his electronic devices as well as the searches carried out in his home, workplace and personal spaces, undertaken by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) as part of an investigation to uncover investigative secrets, unjust.

The decision comes after a long legal battle for the journalist, who in an interview for the "Breaking" show on Top News recounted his journey facing SPAK, as well as the personal and professional feelings that have accompanied him during this process.

" I have nothing personal with this institution and I have nothing to hide. My entire professional life has been connected to this institution ," Qyno said.

He also raised concerns that he was not invited to several media meetings held by SPAK director Altin Dumani, despite his 20-year contribution to reporting on the justice system. “ I don’t know why I wasn’t invited. I really regret it because all my colleagues go to these meetings, while I was never invited to the last three meetings ,” he said.

Qyno said that he has known Altin Dumani since 2006 and that he has no personal conflict with him. However, he criticized the institution's approach towards journalists, emphasizing that their exclusion from important media activities is not supported by any regulation or law.

In his interview, the journalist also commented on the use of security measures by SPAK, considering the application of prison arrests in some cases as excessive.

" In some cases, any probability of imposing a prison sentence has been exceeded, even when there was no particular danger to the person or the criminal offense ," said Qyno, emphasizing that some of SPAK's requests were later rejected by the courts.
