The first hearing on the merits of the trial against Ilir Meta and his ex-wife Monika Kryemadhi was held today.

This was also the first time the country's former president was seen in public after two years behind bars awaiting the start of his trial.

Photos and videos from the courtroom show the drastic change in the PL leader, who is seen extremely emaciated and with his gray hair shaved to zero, a completely different appearance from what we are used to seeing before.

This transformation is one more reason for the country's former President to face justice at large.
