The preliminary hearing for the former Minister of Defense, Fatmir Mediu, regarding the 'Gërdec' file, has been postponed in the Special Court against Corruption and Crime.

The prosecutors of the case were absent and the Judge, Irena Gjoka set the date March 23 to make a decision on whether to pass the case for trial. 

The lawyers request the dismissal of the case. If the case is not dismissed, attorneys will seek summary judgment.

Fatmir Mediu himself did not appear, while the two defense lawyers Ardian Visha and Henrik Ligori arrived at the hearing. The Durda family, Zamira and Feruzan Durda, who lost their only 7-year-old children in the Gërdec explosion, also appeared in court.
