NAME/ Trafficked 20 kg of cocaine from Albania to Florence, 58-year-old

A 58-year-old man sentenced to 7 years in prison and wanted by Italian authorities has been arrested by the Operational Forces.

The State Police says that as part of the operation codenamed "Operation 23" , Fatmir Isollari alias Fatmir Cenka, 58 years old, resident of Berat, was arrested .

This person is accused of participating in a criminal organization for drug trafficking and is expected to be extradited to Italy.

"This citizen was declared internationally wanted by the Interpol Directorate, after the Court of Appeal of Florence, Italy, in 2023, sentenced him to 7 years in prison for participating in a criminal organization for drug trafficking," the police say.

The police operation codenamed "Operation 23" is being finalized by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force.

Sentenced by Italian authorities to 7 years in prison for participating in a criminal organization for drug trafficking, the 58-year-old is captured in Berat and arrested for extradition purposes.

During the period 2002-2003, this criminal organization trafficked 20 kg of cocaine from Albania to Florence.

As a result of operational actions carried out after coordinating information with counterparts from the Italian Police, within the framework of the police operation "Operacionalja 23", the following citizen was located, arrested and handcuffed in the city of Berat:

Fatmir Isollari alias Fatmir Cenka, 58 years old, resident of Berat.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by the Interpol Directorate, after the Court of Appeal of Florence, Italy, in 2023, sentenced him to 7 years in prison for participating in a criminal organization for drug trafficking.

Interpol Tirana is cooperating with Interpol Rome to finalize the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy.
