A 24-year-old Albanian man was stabbed to death in the late hours of Monday evening in Vescovato, a town of about 4,000 inhabitants in the province of Cremona, Italy .
The victim, N. Dalipaj , is suspected of being stabbed at least three times in the throat, at the height of an argument on Viale Italia. Transported to hospital in very serious condition, the 24-year-old died shortly after admission.
A 32-year-old man from Cremona, Mattia Miraglia , with no criminal record and residing in Vescovato, has already been arrested for this murder. He was also injured and is under observation at the Maggiore hospital, and his situation is being reviewed by the judicial authorities. The investigations are being carried out by the Carabinieri.
According to initial investigations by the Carabinieri, the fight that ended in the murder may have been motivated by sentimental reasons, specifically jealousy over a girl. Before the fatal stabbing, there had been an argument in a bar between the Albanian and the 32-year-old.
It seemed that everything had ended there, but then the Albanian, along with his brothers, headed to Vescovato, below the rival's apartment.
The latter came down with a knife and, according to the preliminary reconstruction of the event, first wounded one of the victim's brothers in the stomach, and then stabbed the 24-year-old to death./ Corriere
