The Korça Police , in cooperation with the Judicial District Prosecutor's Office , has finalized the investigative operation that led to the discovery of an abusive scheme of breach of duty by several employees of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency ( AZHBR ).

During the investigations, it was documented that some of this agency's inspectors are suspected of abusing their duties by falsifying data in verification acts for farmers benefiting from the National Support Scheme.

According to information, the employees did not conduct on-site checks on the actual condition of the animals, while it is suspected that they corruptly benefited from amounts ranging from 10 to 50 thousand lek (new) for each application, with the aim of unfairly qualifying farmers for subsidies.

In the official announcement, the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Korça announces that it has imposed coercive personal security measures of "Suspension of the exercise of a public duty or function" and "Obligation to report to the judicial police" for the 9 citizens involved, specifically Andrea Miha, Julian Zgura, Entela Gjata, Ermal Ibri, Dritan Çela, Përparim Rustemi, Bruno Berberi, Endrit Ferati and Fatos Ibi.

According to current data, their criminal activity has caused considerable economic damage to the state budget. Investigations are ongoing to identify other persons involved and bring them to justice.
