The Durrës Police in cooperation with the border police of the coastal city have executed the coded operation "Team", to attack criminal activity in the field of providing assistance for illegal crossing of borders.

As a result, 10 people were arrested, more specifically:  Blerim Bytyqi, 48 years old, Drilon Shala , 32 years old, D ukagjin Gunga , 36 years old, Fabion Berisha , 21 years old, Fatmir Gjoshi , 54 years old, Qendresa Krasniqi , 20 years old, Ajishe Demaj , 22 years old, Endrit Demaj , 21 years old,  Besmir Kadria , 37 years old and  Almir Kryeziu , 22 years old.

"All these citizens are suspected to have cooperated with each other, to help 16 minor citizens from Kosovo (age 17), to cross illegally to Italy. The arrested citizens have been presented as members of the board of the sports team that consisted of the 16 minor citizens they were accompanying.

The investigative actions showed that the minors and their parents gave these citizens 3,000-4,000 euros to help the minors enter Italy, where it is suspected that they would seek asylum.

Also, from the investigative actions, it has emerged that the BH citizen has organized the transportation of minor citizens and other persons already arrested, from Kosovo to Kukës and then to Durrës, with the bus of a tourist company in Pristina. During the physical check, the Police found 5945 euros on this citizen, which were seized as material evidence," the Police announcement states.

The work continues for the complete documentation of this criminal activity, the identification and capture of other persons involved.

The materials were passed to the Prosecution, for further actions, for the criminal offense "Aiding for illegal border crossing", committed in cooperation.
