The area of Kurjani is known not only for the cultivation of olives but also for the abundant production of greenhouses.
Durim Bakaj, from the village of Mbers in the Kurjan administrative unit, Roskovec has started the tomato harvesting season and this year the production is good. In 3 dynym greenhouses with tomato culture, the farmer expects to get a production of 100 kv per dynym and the entire amount goes for export to the countries of the region.
"Production is very good, we are on the right track. It's the second harvest I'm doing. It depends on the market how it will go. I am unhappy with the union of farmers because one plants tomatoes, the other peppers and so we lose," said farmer Durim Bakaj.
What makes the market safe for the export of farmer's products from Mbersi is their organic quality and without pesticides.
"Everything is organic here, no pesticides, nothing. Anyone should come and verify it," he added.
Durimi returned 10 years ago from emigration and built his family business not only in greenhouses but also in olive cultivation.
"Everything I have created is with my own strength" - said the farmer who wants to increase more greenhouse spaces.
