The well-known Austrian economist Gunther Fehlinger, a strong voice in support of the rights of Albanians in the region, visited our country this week.
Fehlinger, who was earlier the General Secretary of the Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of the European People's Party, made a sad observation while crossing from Kosovo to Albania.
He says that while traveling through Kosovo, he noticed the presence of so-called European highways, but they are absent in Albania.
"What is the difference between Albania and Kosovo? Kosovo has European highways and Albania only claims to have them on the Google map, but when you travel, you realize that Albania is not developing seriously... sad," he writes on Twitter.
Since 2005 Gunther has focused on economic reform and SME policy in European countries in transition, mainly in Kosovo, Albania and Ukraine.
