A tragic event took place this Tuesday in the city of Borghetto in Italy, where an Albanian citizen lost his life at work.

The Italian media write that the victim is a 61-year-old man who accidentally fell from the scaffolding in the building where he worked.

Despite being given first aid by a Loano Red Cross ambulance, the 61-year-old could not survive his injuries.

"A tragedy, we mourn another sudden death and another ruined family", was the immediate comment of the mayor Giancarlo Canepa, who arrived at the scene after the accident.

"In these cases there are no words, now the investigations will do their duty to clarify the event, to ascertain exactly what happened and to shed light on all aspects of the case", said the mayor.

The only witness, a woman who works in a supermarket near the building, declared: "I had just left when I heard a noise, I looked up and saw him fall", the woman declared, obviously affected by what had happened, euronews.al reports.

The woman turned to the nearby Medical Nursing clinic to ask for immediate help: "A nurse came and in the meantime I called the emergency. Everything that was possible was done, but unfortunately nothing could be done," she said.
