SERIOUS in Greece/ Accident at work, 45-year-old Albanian loses LIFE!
Greece

A worker in Greece tragically died on Saturday morning after falling from a scaffold while working on a house.

As reported by the local media site stonisi.gr, the 45-year-old Albanian citizen, who had lived in Lesvos for a long time and was particularly well-liked, was doing some work on the roof of a house in the airport area when he fell, under still undetermined circumstances, from a great height to the ground.

The deceased worked in a restaurant as a daily job, while he often worked a second job, such as the one during which he lost his life, to supplement his income.

The Mytilene Labor Center issued a statement condemning the accident and calling for a protest rally today, Sunday, at 12:00 PM at Sappho Square.

In its statement, the Labor Center emphasizes that "low wages, punctuality in the schedule, and the high cost of living force thousands of workers to work second and third jobs."

Furthermore, she emphasizes that “ the tragic death highlights the lack of health and safety protection measures in the workplace ,” attributing responsibility to the policies of “ this government and previous ones .”
