"He broke it with a motorcycle"/ Questions about the killing of the
Ylli Mera and his brother

The family members of 51-year-old Ylli Mera still do not know what happened to him, after he was found murdered on a mountain in Thessaloniki, while they were looking for him for almost a week.

His brother was the man who became concerned when the 51-year-old left to cut wood in the mountains and showed no signs of life for three days, officially reporting himself missing to police on November 4.

Speaking to the Greek media , the brother of Ylli Meras said that he only knows what has appeared in the media, as he found the motorcycle at the scene.

"The brother was found dead on the mountain, he had gone there with a Greek, probably to cut wood, we still don't know what happened, but we heard that his leg was cut off, there they found the electric chainsaw. They worked together with the man who went to the mountain, but I don't know anything more, I'm the only one in Greece, I'm very sorry for this tragic event that happened in our family, we're waiting to learn more from the police who are following the investigations .” he said.

From the first moment that his disappearance was reported, the alarm was raised and the police started intensive searches to find him, while also collecting the testimonies of people who knew the 51-year-old well and the program he followed.

On Sunday afternoon, police officers of the Department of Crimes Against Life from various services of the Hellenic Police and with the help of the police dog "Skhëndija", managed to locate him in a mountainous area of the Municipality of Volvi.

The Albanian was found in a miserable condition, unconscious and near his dead body there were traces of blood, as a result of the electric saw wound on the thigh.

What happened on the mountain?

As the residents of the village report to protothema.gr, the 51-year-old knew and had very good relations with the 59-year-old with whom they went to the mountain on Tuesday for illegal logging.

It was not the first time that the two men went together to cut wood and then sell it in the area.

It is suspected that the victim would receive an amount as a worker, while the 59-year-old man would keep the profit from the sales.

The two arrested were sent to the Prosecutor's Office of the First Instance of Thessaloniki.

It is known that the 59-year-old man did not reveal the location of the dead body of the Albanian.

They often went to the mountains together

The entire village where the unfortunate 51-year-old Albanian lived in recent decades was shocked by the tragic event.

"There was no one better. He had been living here for years. We heard that Kosta (as he was called in Greece) had gone to the mountains and died. He had gone several times for work, to cut wood. The two men had gone together many times", Giorgos Tsakalides, a resident of the village who knew both men for many years, told protothema.gr.

"The police found him on the mountain. They often went together with the man they went with on Tuesday, he took him to work almost every day," he pointed out.
