Two Albanian traffickers terrorize vacationers in Italy, in a crazy car chase by

Two young Albanians ignored a police order to stop and were involved in a dangerous car chase in the area between San Mauro Pascoli, in the province of Cesena, and Bellaria Igea Marina, in the province of Rimini.

The police were monitoring them on suspicion of drugs.

The incident occurred when officers from the Cesenatico Police Station were carrying out an anti-drug operation in San Mauro Mare.

Police identified a black Peugeot, which they had previously received information about could be used for drug distribution.

As the officers approached to search the people in the vehicle and verify if they had drugs with them, the driver stepped on the gas and tried to escape.

A police car was positioned on the road the suspects were expected to follow, with the aim of stopping the vehicle.

Dangerous escape, panic among passersby

When the Peugeot 208 approached the police car, the officers ordered the driver to stop. But he evaded the officers and continued at high speed, starting a chase through the streets of San Mauro Mare and Bellaria.

According to the police, the driving style was extremely dangerous and without regard for the presence of pedestrians and other drivers.

At that moment, many families were heading towards the beach. Some pedestrians, when they heard the motorbikes and sirens, ran to the side of the road and took their children in their arms, fearing they would be hit by the car.

A woman, who appeared to be pregnant, was in the path of the vehicle and managed to avoid the collision only by speeding up and running, even though she was on the white lines.

Due to the danger created, the police officers reduced the speed of the pursuit, but continued to keep the vehicle under observation. After the coordinated intervention of several State Police vehicles, the Peugeot was blocked and the two young men were neutralized.

The passenger threw a package out the window.

Shortly before they were stopped, the officers saw the passenger throwing a black plastic bag out the window.

Police found the package, but its contents had ended up in a drain with stagnant water and could not be recovered. Investigators suspect it was drugs.

The two Albanians, aged 25 and 26 respectively, both with numerous criminal records, including drug trafficking-related offenses, were escorted to the police station.

The drug test was negative, but the police discovered another element: two sharp sticks about one meter long, ready for use, were hidden in both doors of the vehicle. They were seized.

One was also reported for illegal stay in Italy.

Both Albanians were prosecuted for possessing sharp instruments without a justified reason.

The driver, 25, was also charged with disobeying a police order to stop and dangerous driving.

The vehicle was seized for the purpose of confiscation, while the driver's license and vehicle document were revoked.

The checks carried out together with the Immigration Office of the Forlì-Cesena Commissariat also revealed that the driver had previously been refused the renewal of his residence permit. For this reason, he was also reported for irregular residence in Italy. (Rimini Today)
