The absence of one of the defendants, as well as his legal counsel, was the reason for the postponement of the court session in the "Golden Bullet" trial.
During the hearing, lawyer Sokol Hazizaj, who represents defendant Gentian Sharra in this process, requested the court to require the mandatory presence of the associate of justice, Nuredin Dumani. According to the defense, this request is related to the fact that the process is in the phase of giving statements by defendant Henrik Hoxha, which would allow for a confrontation between the two individuals.
The request was opposed by SPAK, which argued that there were no contradictions in the statements and, therefore, the legal conditions for mandatory escorting do not exist. The prosecution asked the court to dismiss the request.
Lawyer Hazizaj filed the request after Nuredin Dumani failed to participate in some of the last sessions of this trial.
The Special Court assessed that, at this stage, the legal conditions for the mandatory accompaniment of a justice collaborator are not met, but emphasized that it will express its opinion on this request at a later date.
The next session was postponed to February 3, at 10:00.
