The Directorate of Taxes in Tirana has launched an action to control the declared salaries of lecturers. Yesterday, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that teachers who work in the private sector do not declare their real salaries, so their assets could be checked.
As can be seen in the following document, the Tax inspectors are instructed to interrogate the lecturers and, together with them, fill in the self-declaration forms for the level of salary they receive.

This inspection of the self-declaration of lecturers' salaries comes at a time when they have raised protests in some universities of the country, for salary increases. Also, the inspectors are instructed that immediately after the declarations of the lecturers on the salary, the verification of the money box in the Universities should be done, writes newsbomb.
Below, the object of control ordered by the Regional Directorate of Taxes, Tirana:
" Control of self-declarations on the level of wages, calculation, retention and payment of tax obligations by the taxpayer as well as control in function of risk factors, this taxpayer from the Risk Analysis, results with a salary lower than the average from the Education sector, issued by the Directorate of Risk Management in implementation of the Decision of the Fulfillment Committee no. 31, dated 29.07.2022, for the sectoral plan on the control of informality of salaries ."
