The process of interviewing candidates for the head of the Special Anti-Corruption Structure has begun at the High Prosecutorial Council.

The first candidate being interviewed is Adnan Xholi, who in his speech said that the Special Prosecution Office is at an important stage in the fight against corruption of high-ranking officials and organized crime. He also said that it is very important to protect prosecutorial magistrates from unjust attacks.

"Each of the SPAK prosecutors is a potential candidate to lead that structure, thanks to the results they have achieved. I will support any candidate who wins, because they are my family. I stand with them more than with my biological family," said Xholi.

Xholi added that during his work he has gone through all the stages of a prosecutor's job, and since joining SPAK he has been part of several operations to crack down on Albanian criminal groups with international reach. 

"I have led several important investigations. I am the head of 5 joint investigative teams with the justice of EU countries. I have had parallel investigations with many countries on a global scale. I have had issues of drug trafficking, arms trafficking and human beings. I have applied the use of special investigation methods on a large scale," he added.
