During the voting process in the High Prosecutorial Council for the election of the new head of SPAK, a special detail was noted: None of the three female members of the KLP voted for the only female candidate in the race, prosecutor Doloreza Musabelliu.

Musabelliu, one of the prosecutors with long experience in the special structure and with a consolidated career in serious crime and corruption investigations, competed against three male candidates.

Although the vote is free, independent and not related to gender, the fact that none of the three women members of the KLP supported her candidacy leaves room for discussions regarding the lack of professional solidarity within the justice institutions, but not only.

Doloreza Musabelliu is considered one of the most prepared prosecutors of SPAK, with important files and professional integrity.

Regardless of the final result, her candidacy was seen as a real chance to give the SPAK leadership a new perspective.

Although in such a vote, the KLP regulation does not provide for any gender-related criteria and voting is an individual right, the question naturally arises:

Should women in high positions support each other as a sign of representation and encouragement, especially when it comes to important positions in the judiciary?

In our country, the inclusion of women in the leadership of important institutions still remains a challenge.

Although we all agree that female-female support is not mandatory, it still remains a positive message about balance and representation/VoxNews
