New details have come to light related to the cause of the assassination attempt on Selami Brahim, in the city of Shkodra, where the latter was injured.

The suspected author of this gun attack, 68-year-old Sulejman Kapllani , is the uncle of the target's wife, Selami Brahim .

According to the same sources, the conflicts between the families started in 2013, when Selami Brahim's father-in-law severed relations with his brother.

"It is learned that the suspected perpetrator, Sulejman Kapllani, was his wife's uncle and there have been family conflicts that started in 2013, when Selami Brahim's father-in-law severed relations with his brother, not speaking for at least 11 years. From still unconfirmed data, it is learned that there were 3 brothers in the Kapllani family and one of them, neither the father-in-law of the person who was attacked with a firearm, nor the author of this incident himself, but the other brother was the cause of an incident seriously in Italy where he shot 2 citizens and was arrested in Italy. This seems to have heated the blood between the brothers, cutting off the contact of the three of them with each other. This story has lasted for years until Selami Brahim's father-in-law passed away. At the moment when the brother's death was announced, it was not decided that he is the brother of the author of this event, he felt insulted and it seems that he kept his anger leading to such an event, pure assassination".

According to what correspondent Kalaja reports, the conflict has escalated since at the time when Sulejman Kapllani's brother and at the same time Selami Brahim's father-in-law passed away, the fact that he was the brother of the deceased was not established in the notification of the latter's death.

This has made Sulejman Kapllani feel insulted, thus creating a conflict with other family members, but mainly with his niece and the son-in-law of this house, the injured Selami Brahim.

According to the dynamics of the event, Kapllani returned from Italy, rented a vehicle, committed the assassination attempt in Shkodër on February 8 and left the Hani i Hoti customs point to arrive in Berlin, where he was arrested 2 days after the event.

The investigations carried out so far also helped to find and seize the weapon used, a Kalashnikov and the vehicle in which the 68-year-old fled.

Selami Brahimi was shot while getting into his parked Citroen car. The 60-year-old quickly entered the vehicle, but did not escape the bullets that left him injured.
