The Buna River in Shkodër has burst its banks today in two areas, more specifically in Muriqan and Oblikë. As a result, an area of ​​275 hectares was flooded this Wednesday, January 18.

The news was announced by the Civil Emergency in the Municipality of Shkodra, which announces that they are monitoring the situation on the ground.

The situation in the Municipality of Shkoder, at 12.00 on 18.01.2023, is presented as follows:

The level of the Drin river (Bahçallek bridge hydrometer) marks the quota of 6.20 m with an increase of 15 cm at 08.00 on 18.01.2023 (max quota 7.50 m)

The level of the lake (Bune bridge hydrometer) marks 7.55 m with an increase of 15 cm at 08.00 on 18.01.2023 (max quota 8.70 m).

There are outlets of the Buna River in Muriqan and Oblike, the flooded area is 275 Ha.
The EC groups of Shkoder Municipality are continuously monitoring the situation.
