The July 15 cyber attack, which took the e-Albania government portal out of service for days, was followed by another development that exposed the potential danger of Iranian circles in the country.

On July 22, the National Council of Resistance of Iran announced the postponement of the Free Iran World Summit, scheduled to take place on July 23-24 at the Mujahideen camp "Ashraf 3" in Manza. The summit was postponed on the recommendation of the Albanian government due to terrorist threats and conspiracies of the Iranian regime.

The tones of danger were felt even stronger by the warning of the US embassy in Tirana to American citizens to avoid traffic closer to the area where the Mujahedin Summit was expected to be held. But these two events were not the only ones that brought to the surface the underground actions of the Iranians present in the country under the guise of a diplomat.

In December 2018, Albania expelled the Iranian chief diplomat in Tirana, Gholamhossein Mohammadnia, as well as the other diplomat Mostafa Roudaki, after suspicions that they were involved in the Iranian secret services and participating in activities that undermined security in Albania.
Their expulsion was supported by the US State Department. In a tweet by John Boltin, the national security adviser to then US President Donald Trump, said their sentence was a signal to Iranian leaders that their support for terrorism would not be tolerated.

In January 2020, two more Iranian diplomats in Albania received an "escape only" ticket from Albania. Members of the Iranian diplomatic corps in Tirana, Mohammad Ali Arz Peimanemati and Seyed Ahmad Hosseini Alast, were declared undesirable./A2
