From Monday, September 18, 2023, and in the next 6 weeks, the Population and Housing Census will be conducted throughout the country.

For this reason, the Orthodox Church of Albania has called on the faithful to identify themselves as "Orthodox Christians".

"During this important process, religious affiliation data will also be recorded. Since this part of the Census is left only optional, show attention and responsibility, asking for the note of your religious identity: "i/e Orthodox Christian".

Check and make sure that the answer to the question about religious affiliation, which the surveyor fills in, has been entered correctly on the tablet (electronic device) with which he registers, according to what you have declared," writes the Church on its Facebook page . Orthodox of Albania.

Two other major religious communities in the country, the Muslim Community and the Catholic Church, have not made such calls.
