Greek police authorities in cooperation with Interpol Tirana have arrested an Albanian wanted internationally.

It is about the 55-year-old Kujtim Demiri, whom the Court of Serious Crimes, in 2010, sentenced to 15 years in prison, for the criminal offense "Trafficking of minors", committed in cooperation.

Kujtim Demiri bought a child for 10,000 ALL, illegally crossed it from Albania to Greece and used it to beg for several years.

The police operation coded "Capital" is finalized, for the capture of an Albanian citizen declared internationally wanted for the criminal offense "Trafficking of minors".

The operation was finalized as a result of the exchange of information between the Research Section of DVP Tirana, Interpol Tirana and the Greek police authorities.

He is located in Greece, after the exchange of information, the 55-year-old sentenced to 15 years in prison is arrested and imprisoned.


Following the work for the capture of internationally wanted citizens, Interpol Tirana, after receiving information from the Search Section of DVP Tirana, about an Albanian citizen who was wanted internationally who was hiding in Athens, Greece, have sent the information to the Greek police authorities, with purpose of locating and capturing this citizen.

Based on the information sent by Interpol Tirana, within the coded police operation "Capital", the Albanian citizen was captured and arrested in Athens, Greece:

Kujtim Demiri, 55 years old.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted after the Court of Serious Crimes, in 2010, sentenced him to 15 years in prison, for the criminal offense "Trafficking of minors", committed in cooperation.

The citizen Kujtim Demiri illegally crossed from Albania to Greece, a minor citizen and through violence forced him to beg for around 1 year.

The procedures for the extradition of this citizen from Greece to our country are continuing.
