The police have doubts that the person who executed the businessman, Ardian Nikulaj, is a hired killer. Investigators have yet to track down the killer while dozens of hours of security camera footage are being reviewed.

Some of them have captured the moment when he comes to the bar of the 50-year-old and leaves after the murder. The cameras of the streets and businesses have fixed it near "Gjadri".

The police escorted several people to the police station. The witnesses who were inside the bar, the husband, the waiter, but also the wife who was in the kitchen, were questioned. That everyone has denied that the 50-year-old had conflicts.

The State Police Director Muhamet Rrumbullaku was also interested in the investigations. Early in the morning he was in the office of his subordinate, the Police Director of Lezha. To avoid the media, Rrumbullaku left through a back door of the directorate.

The track where the investigations are focused is that of Ardian Nikulaj's past. He has been convicted twice, in 2003 with 4 months in prison for possession of weapons without a permit, and in 2006 he was fined for forgery.

Ardian Nikulaj was a well-known businessman in the field of hotel tourism, in Lezha and beyond. He was a candidate for deputy in the district of Lezha in 2021 from the ranks of the Social Democrat party while running again to be a member of the municipal council in the May 14 elections.
