The weekend is expected to be heavy with rain and snow, and the Shkodra Municipality has again warned that the region is at risk of flooding.

In a post on social networks, the Municipality of Shkodra writes that according to reports, there may be discharges from the side of Hydropower plants in the Cascade of Drini, based on the level of flows. It has also provided a telephone number for citizens to ask for help if they need it.

"Based on the forecasts of IGJEUM, the territory of the Shkodër Municipality is expected to experience heavy rainfall this weekend as well as snowfall in the mountainous areas. According to reports, there may be discharges from the side of Hydropower plants in the Cascade of Drini, based on the level of flows.

The emergency headquarters of the Municipality of Shkodër is ready for any situation that may arise. We ask the residents of sub-Shkodra to take measures, to be more attentive, and to report as soon as possible the problems that may appear in these units by calling the mobile number: 067 303 5950" - the announcement states  .

A few weeks ago, Shkodra was one of the areas most affected by floods. The opposition and the Municipality accused the government of mismanaging the Drin cascade. On the other hand, the majority said that the reason was the high level of rainfall.
