The Tirana court has given custody of the three minor children of Kudret Saliaj and Dhurata Saliaj to the victim's brother after the murder of the father and the imprisonment of the mother.
As for Saliaj, he was executed in the premises of a bar near the Tirana court, at noon on June 4, 2021, by his father-in-law Mejit Picari in collaboration with his daughter Dhurata Saliaj before the divorce hearing.
Today, the court accepted the lawsuit of the children's uncle, two boys and a girl, handing custody over to him.
During the process, the children's uncle also raised claims for custody, a fact that was opposed by the Saliaj family, but then he withdrew and did not officially file a lawsuit in court.
The couple Dhurata and Kudret Saliaj were in the process of divorcing because they had a disagreement, when the serious crime happened. In that event, the victim's lawyer, Adriatik Cami, was also injured.
The prosecution says that father and daughter jointly organized the serious crime. Both are facing the Tirana court on the charge of murder due to family relations.
The next hearing against them was scheduled to take place on Thursday, but it was postponed due to the lack of lawyers for the defendants.
