Erion Veliaj's lawyer, Plarent Ndreca, has issued a public statement to the media regarding the issue of the mayor of Tirana.

In his statement, he states that Veliaj's team has suspicions that the judge in the case may be under constant pressure.

" Veliaj has requested the termination of Ols Dado's status as a prosecutor. The KLP has never met on this issue, it is a violation. For this reason, our concern today is very great. There is a suspicion that the judge in the case may be under constant pressure. This is not an issue between Veliaj, the municipality in Tirana and Ols Dado.

This is an issue that affects the legal system in the Albanian state. We are dealing with a serious problem of the self-functioning of the legal system. This is an issue that should concern every citizen of Tirana, every legal professional…

"Anyone who thinks this battle will stop here is mistaken. In a state of law, where everyone must face the law equally, no one can be above the law just because they are part of the justice system ," Ndreca said, among other things.
