Search for helicopter carrying Iranian president

No trace of the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the country's foreign minister.

Hundreds of people have been engaged in searches in the area where the helicopter allegedly carried out a violent landing, but have so far failed to locate the site.

The area near the border with Azerbaijan is covered by a thick fog that makes the search difficult.

Earlier, Iranian state media reported that Raisi and the rest of the delegation were safe, but the post was deleted shortly afterwards, prompting speculation that the situation was serious.

Traveling with Raisin were Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, the governor of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province and other officials, state news agency IRNA reported.
