Birce Hasko

Renowned Albanian cinematographer Birçe Hasko, one of the most beloved and appreciated figures of the Albanian stage and screen, passed away this Friday.

The sad news was made public by actor and director Mevlan Shanaj, who dedicated a touching message to him on social media.

Mevlan Shana's reaction:

Birçe Hasko is gone.

The actor who left behind an honorable name, a great name in Albanian cinema, has passed away.

The great Birçe Hasko is gone. The man who gave his name to the art of interpretation is gone.

He has gone, the one whose character was characterized by humor and rigor. Farewell, friend and collaborator.

Birçe Hasko was known for his outstanding interpretations, where he masterfully brought the popular character of the south, making it unforgettable for the Albanian public.

He was born in Dukat, Vlorë on March 15, 1942. He initially trained as a teacher, before dedicating himself to art.

He then studied acting at the Higher Institute of Arts in Tirana and also contributed as a lecturer, educating new generations of artists in the art of acting.

Hasko was considered a "master of characters", he played dozens of roles in theater and cinema, standing out for the realism, humor and naturalness he brought to his characters.

He was part of some of the most popular Albanian films of the 1970s-1990s and beyond.
