A 29-year-old Albanian man is arrested in Frankfurt, suspected of fraud

A 29-year-old Albanian man has been arrested by the German Federal Police at Frankfurt Airport, suspected of being part of a criminal organization accused of a fraud scheme worth tens of millions of euros.

The young man was detained on Saturday shortly after arriving on a flight from Dubai, while the arrest was carried out directly on the plane. Investigations show that the organization promised investors profits through investments in various assets, but their funds were never invested.

Instead, the money was embezzled by the criminal network, causing losses amounting to tens of millions of euros in Germany alone. The full number of victims has not yet been determined. The 29-year-old was wanted by the Dresden Public Prosecutor's Office and Albanian authorities on suspicion of large-scale fraud.

After his arrest, he appeared before a judge, who ordered his arrest. According to authorities, in Albania he could face a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
