The former President of the Republic of Albania, Alfred Moisiu, celebrates his 95th birthday today.

Through an open letter, President Bajram Begaj congratulates Moisiu, whom he appreciates for his contributions to the country.

Dear President Moisiu ,

I have the distinct pleasure of joining your many family, friends and well-wishers on the joyous occasion of your 95th birthday in conveying to you my heartiest wishes for good health, long life and active.

In the historical journey of the Albanian state, you, dear President Moisiu, have made numerous and valuable contributions, for which the Albanian people value you with high consideration.

As a teenager, you enlisted in the ranks of the National Liberation Army of Albania, to be involved in important commitments and very high responsibilities, culminating in the post of President of the country.

In every step you have taken, you have excelled!

You contributed responsibly while exercising the duties of the Head of State, especially in times of difficult developments, but also with wisdom, balance and unifying spirit in the consolidation of democracy, the rule of law, the principle of fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as strengthening of Albania's international image.

On this very special jubilee, which you have achieved with great dedication, hard work and exemplary patriotism, becoming an inspiring model for the Albanian state and political authorities, it is my pleasure to address you with the most heartfelt congratulations " , writes Begaj.
