The journalist, Osman Stafa, writes that the medicine Ventolin (salbutamol) has been missing in Albanian pharmacies for 4 months.

The staff writes that this medicine, so important for asthmatics, is missing and there is no information as to why this is happening.

The reaction of the journalist, Osman Stafa:

According to the information I received, the medicine Ventolin  (salbutamol ) has been missing from Albanian pharmacies for at least 4 months. This is a herb which is used by asthmatics.

I quote: " According to the World Health Organization, people suffering from asthma narrow their airways, producing more mucus and problems. A severe episode can be life-threatening, as there is a risk of suffocation. In this sense , Ventolin is a drug that saves millions of lives every year and, although it does not cure the disease, it is an inhaled treatment (through the famous inhaler) that serves as a " rescue ", reducing inflammation in the airways and returned to normal within minutes ."

So this medicine, so important for asthmatics, is missing and there is no information about why this is happening.

Many people, who have written to me, report to me worriedly, that this situation has alerted them and these days they have found the drug to be smuggled, but even the smuggling is not meeting the needs of the market.

The competent authorities should intervene immediately to resolve the situation, as this is a very serious situation for asthmatics who use this medication.
