Mexican journalist Manuel Espino , who accused businessman Luftar Hysa in 2022 of being connected to Mexican cartels to launder money from criminal drug trafficking, has denied the article, which is not based on evidence, in the Universal newspaper.
The rebuttal comes after a series of Mexican newspapers published rebuttals to the allegations against the Albanian businessman Hysa.
The businessman Hysa, since the publication of the article, has described the accusations as coming from his competition in the gambling business who seek to create a monopoly in the Mexican market.

Albanian businessmen Luftar, Arben, Ramiz and Fatos Hysa rejected the links with the Mexican cartels and claim that the accusations against them have more to do with a fight between casino owners who seek to discredit them.
In 2022, federal intelligence authorities discovered that capo Ismael Zambada García, alias El Mayo, had allegedly allied with the Hysa family to carry out illegal activities in both Mexico and Albania.
However, the family of European origin assured through an explanatory letter that the authorities of the Ministry of the Interior, which regulate gambling and lotteries, and the General Prosecutor's Office (FGR) have shown with official decisions that they were not part of the organized crime activity of money laundering.
The Hysa family clarified that the company Entretenimiento Palermo, SA de CV, whose shareholders are Luftar and Arben Hysa, operates under conditions identical to those of the gambling syndicate and that none of them have illegal movements of money or are connected to the cartels criminal in action, therefore, he emphasized, the unity between them should be closer, due to the intention of the authorities to modify the regulations and the Law on Games and Lotteries, seriously affecting their rights, since the union has been invited to join with the XV Ordinary National Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico.
"The criminal charges against our family are not only false, but also ridiculous. If my family had the millions of dollars talked about, we wouldn't have to get up every day to work away from our loved ones, thinking about opening new businesses, like our restaurants, in which there is always the risk of not returning the profit from the investment", said Arben Hysa in an explanatory letter sent to EL UNIVERSAL.
Regarding the accusations of money laundering against him on behalf of the Sinaloa cartels and the Jalisco New Generation, Hysa clarified: " it is very likely that this discredit was created by people who interfere in the operation of our businesses, with whom we had some differences. We are a hardworking family, generating competition, which not everyone likes; However, the authorities are not naive, they know very well that we are responsible people and that we are not involved in criminal activities ".
He indicated that the company Entretenimiento Palermo, SA de CV, operates in accordance with the law and therefore its activity in the world of games seems to respond more to a fight between casino businessmen./ Hashtag
