The ring line has been given a monopoly to a private operator, with the argument that it manages it better than the municipality.

Today, for the umpteenth time, the buses of this line caused another accident in the middle of Tirana.

It is the same line that threw the citizens in Lana.

It is the same line that took the cars parked at the traffic light at the youth park.

It's the same scene with the private urbanites who take over billboards, bus stations or citizens' cars.

THIS HAS TO STOP!

Regardless of the real cause, or the justification given in the media, these accidents show that the private sector cannot compete not only with the quality of service but also with the safety of life of the citizens of Tirana!

For three years, as a Thurje initiative, we have requested the inspection of these urban buses, or technical control reports from the Directorate of Road Services, but there has been zero transparency.

Therefore, tomorrow I will officially ask the City Council and the mayor to cancel the contract with the private operator that manages the ring line.

Let's start from this line, as a first step, to break away from this abusive model in all urban lines, and to offer Tirana a public transport.
