Tragic accident in Lezha, father and daughter lose their lives

A serious accident has been recorded in Lezha, where it is suspected that a father and daughter have lost their lives.

They were found dead inside an overturned vehicle in a canal in the village of Gocaj, under circumstances that are still unclear.

Police services and an investigation team have arrived at the scene.

So far, it is still unknown whether it was a loss of control of the vehicle or other factors that may have caused the incident.

Preliminary police information

At around 21:45 on 25.04.2026, the son of citizen AK appeared at the Lezha Police Station, reporting that he had lost contact with his father and sister, who had left for work in their vehicle.

Immediately after receiving the notification, the Police services carried out checks to find them.

In the village of Gocaj, near the cement factory, on a secondary road, their vehicle was found in a canal with water.

After removing the vehicle from the water, it was found that citizens AK, 54 years old, and BK, 20 years old (father and daughter) were in the vehicle without any signs of life.

It is initially suspected that the vehicle left the road as a result of the driver, citizen BK, losing control of the vehicle.

The investigation team is at the scene and is working to clarify the circumstances, determine the cause of the vehicle's veer off the road, and complete legal documentation.
