'He killed four children', the accident that killed the Albanian

Orjol Lame, the driver of the car in the tragic accident in Gaida where four Albanians died, has come out of a coma three months after the tragedy. He is hospitalized in Correggio hospital. Newsprima writes that the 32-year-old is the only survivor of the accident that happened on Sunday, October 30, 2022. He was driving a car that was uninsured and on behalf of a person who had died, which crashed at high speed in a house on Emilia Street.

Shane Hyseni, Lame's 22-year-old partner, the couple's one-and-a-half-year-old son, and Shane's sister and brother (ages 11 and 9) died instantly from the violent crash. Lame must answer for the crimes of multiple street murder and driving under the influence of drugs (blood tests have revealed traces of cocaine and drugs in his body).

Lame's neurological conditions show no signs of improvement. He can't speak and doesn't seem to remember anything from that evening. After entrusting two experts with the task of reconstructing the accident and extracting a forensic copy of the contents of the driver's smartphones to verify whether he was using them at the wheel, last week prosecutor Marco Marano asked for and received a third expertise.

The investigating judge, Andrea Rat, tasked a psychiatrist with assessing the 32-year-old's effective capacity to participate consciously in the trial. The report will be submitted within ninety days. The result will be decisive to understand whether Lame will be held responsible or not.
