Is the return of betting related to the disappearance of Vis Martinaj? Edi Rama speaks

The police still do not have an official communication about the disappearance of Ervis Martinaj and what happened to him, and this has fueled many speculations. Prime Minister Edi Rama says that regarding this issue, the police must have data based on concrete evidence.

"It is unacceptable for the country to live with a Big Brother of the black chronicle and with the media that feeds this soap opera in the inability to have the official version. Soon the police should come out with the official version, unlike the speculators... the police should not just have information but should be based on evidence. I am constantly informed by the State Police, the problem is that the police must have a version based on evidence. The police have much more than others, but there should be clarity when making an official and fact-based communication", said Rama in "Opinion".

Asked by the journalist Blendi Fevziu if the return of the discussion about online betting has to do with the disappearance of the "king of gambling" Ervis Martinaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama denied this claim.

"This is hallucinatory and criminal. Because the issue of gambling is very clear, it has nothing to do with any conspiracy theory. We don't talk about gambling coming back because there's no chance that gambling will come back while I'm in this job. There will be no opening of gambling centers. We have a single problem with online sports betting that is a global problem. There is no connection at all because the debate on this issue was opened by the Albanian Olympic Committee, by the AFL, some time ago. To accuse the country's government of engaging in such initiatives is criminal. Online betting is uncontrollable."
