In Albania, every two days a worker has an accident at the workplace. According to data provided by TV Klan, 184 people had accidents at work throughout 2022, while 32 lost their lives.

Accidents resulting in death at work are mainly caused by falling from a height, non-implementation of the technical insurance regulation or contact with electricity.

Fatalities have been registered during construction work, manufacturing enterprises, mining, as well as in some other sectors. While the most accidents occurred in manufacturing companies, followed by mining and construction.

For union representatives, employees should not neglect cases when they work in unsafe conditions.

"The problem is not only the employers, they are the first, but the problem is also the employees, who should be informed about their rights. Employees who are in difficult work fronts, in cranes, in shipyards, in mines, should be safe then go to work."

In the last 3 years in Albania, over 180 accidents are reported every year.
