A serious incident occurred in the early hours of October 14 in the Shkoza area of ​​Tirana, where a 35-year-old man is suspected of setting fire to the apartment of his partner's parents. As a result, the two spouses died in hospital.

According to the Police, at around 00:30, after a report of a fire in social housing on "Ali Shefqeti" Street, the services of Police Commissariat No. 1 went to the scene to clarify the circumstances of the incident.

From the preliminary investigations, conducted by criminal experts and arson investigation specialists, it is suspected that the author of the incident is Astrit Idrizi, 35 years old, who is suspected of setting fire to the apartment where IZ, 65 years old, and AZ, 68 years old, the parents of his cohabitant, lived.

Despite intervention and transportation to the hospital, both spouses were unable to survive their injuries.

The 35-year-old was arrested immediately after the incident, as a result of the swift actions of the State Police.

Investigations continue under the direction of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, with the aim of fully legally documenting the event and clarifying all the circumstances that led to this tragedy.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
