Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, Gabriel Escobar, visited Pristina this Monday. He held meetings with President Vjosa Osmani as well as with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, meetings which were held without the presence of the media.

Today's meeting was in the framework of the announced visit of the Senior Advisor of the US Department of State, Derek Chollet, who, because he tested positive for COVID-19, was unable to make his visit.

According to the press release of the presidency of Kosovo, it is said that Osmani notified Escobar and requested that the roads be freed as soon as possible and the barricades removed on the roads leading to the border points Jarinje and Bërnjak. While he said that these barricades at the crossings were made in order to postpone the dialogue and not to dialogue about the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.

The meeting also discussed the relations between Kosovo and Serbia, the dialogue process and the way forward towards the full normalization of relations between the two countries.
