The Swiss national team, which surprised Germany in the last match in the group, will be the opponent of Italy in the first round of 16 of the competition.
Anxiety is growing for Saturday, when at 18:00 there will be the referee's whistle for the start of the match. This match will open the 1/8 stage of Euro 2024.
A few days before the match, an intriguing event happened at the base of the Swiss national team. The federation has denounced the theft of three laptops owned by the video analysts of the Swiss national team matches.
The news was also confirmed by the Swiss technical staff, who immediately reported the incident to the German authorities.
"I can confirm that three computers of our colleagues have disappeared from the hotel, we have notified the police", commented Adrian Arnold, spokesman for the Swiss federation.
The theft took place in the hotel where the national team is gathered in Dusseldorf while players and staff were staying at the airport hotel.
"There was no data stored on the three computers we are using for this tournament," announced spokesman Arnold.
"If it was an attempt to sabotage us, then it went wrong," he added.
Investigators are looking at the hotel's cameras to find the perpetrators.
