Slovakia has made the first big surprise in Euro 2024, as it has defeated Belgium 1-0.

Slovakia started the match brilliantly, taking the lead in the 7th minute through Schranz. Everyone thought that Belgium would react immediately after this goal, but De Bryne and the other Belgian stars almost never managed to take any chances in the first 45 minutes.

Likewise, the second half started with the same pace from both teams, even in some cases the Slovaks proved to be dangerous and very close to the second goal. After the substitutions, Belgium reacted and there was another team on the field, but luck was not with them, as in one case Lukaku was caught offside and the goal celebration was interrupted in the middle, while a few minutes later, the attacking giant the Belgian sent the ball into the net again, but this time the referee, also assisted by VAR, noticed a hand touch by Openda, who assisted the goal that was disallowed.

With this victory, although minimal, Slovakia has made the first big surprise in this European, while Belgium will play the chances in the other two matches in the group with Romania and Ukraine.
